    You will:

    • Be a part of a close-knit team that provides therapeutic and educational services to kids and teens with severe developmental disabilities and emotional disturbances.
    • Supervise students in their daily living activities.
    • Ensure students and your peers have the support they need to thrive.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    To succeed in this role, you must show an understanding of the emotional and developmental disabilities of the people you serve. You will be trained to use proper interventions and approaches while helping our students with their daily needs.

     

    As a direct support professional, you will:

     

    • Implement individual programs for students
    • Work in a team to coordinate living areas
    • Engage with your team to create a safe and supportive environment
    • Maintain organization and work as a contributor within the team
    • Prove collaborative skills, working with your team to delegate and contribute to duties and responsibilities as needed
    • Maintain attention to detail when completing all paperwork and other documentation

     

    REQUIREMENTS

    To be considered for this job, you must meet the following requirements:

     

    • Have a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. A college degree in a human services field is preferred.
    • Have a valid Indiana driver’s license
    • Have demonstrated skill and/or potential in working directly with mentally handicapped and/or emotionally disturbed students
    • Be at least 21 years old

     

    WAGES & BENEFITS

     

    • Starting salary for our caregivers is $12.00 - $13.00 per hour, based on experience or education.
    • All full-time employees of T.C. Harris School are eligible for a comprehensive benefits package including:
