  • Overview

    Functions as an extension of the Program Coordinator, providing overall building supervision and security as well as providing support to the group homes.  Monitors and coordinates treatment programs working with the Program Coordinator and other supervisory personnel.  Monitors and ensures that the day-to-day operations of Agency programming are according to established policies and procedures

    This position reports to the Program Coordinator.

    All 3rd shift Associate Program Supervisors report to the 3rd Shift Supervisor.

    All 3rd shift Direct Support Professionals are indirectly supervised by the 3rd Shift Supervisor

    Responsibilities

    • Works scheduled hours/shifts as determined by the needs of the programs and the Program Coordinator; reports to work on time.  May be required to work overtime.
    • Submits an accurately completed and approved time card in Kronos to the Program Coordinator.
    • Follows policies and procedures regarding use of benefit time and demonstrates a good attendance record.
    • Functions within legal licensing agency and professional standards in maintaining a therapeutic environment for the children.
    • Observes, supports and remains positive regarding all company policies and procedures, observes expectations outlined in the Employee Handbook.
    • Reviews Company policies and procedures and Employee Handbook information with staff and ensures staff compliance.
    • Maintains confidentiality of any information related to the students and staff members
    • Coordinates and maintains positive and supportive working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, and staff members of other departments.
    • Acts as a role model and sets an appropriate example for children and staff members.
    • Supports and complies with the organization’s mission statement.
    • Reports current issues and concerns to the Program Coordinator
    • Works with the Third Shift Associate Program Supervisors to plan and build effective program teams.
    • Successfully completes Mandt, behavioral management training and demonstrates appropriate techniques
    • Attends supervisory meetings, in services and other meetings as scheduled.
    • Maintains current training and knowledge in all fire and disaster procedures.
    • Demonstrates a proactive approach in interacting with students and ensuring the safety of the facility.
    • Demonstrates good decision making and problem-solving skills.
    • Demonstrates a mature, disciplined and tactful approach to completing work duties.
    • Follows chain of command as appropriate
    • Accepts and acts appropriately upon constructive criticism and feedback.
    • Works with Program Coordinator to purchase supplies and materials.
    • Ensures operation of programs within budget guidelines
    • Ensures payroll budget of each program is maintained within budget guidelines and all non-essential overtime is minimized.
    • Performs other duties as delegated by the Program Coordinator or Director which may not specifically be provided for or in this description, but which would reasonably fall under the auspices of this position.

     

     

     

    Qualifications

      • A high school diploma plus a minimum of four years work experience in a child caring institution; or two years of college plus a minimum of two year’s work experience in a child caring institution; or a bachelor’s degree plus a minimum of one year of work experience in a child caring institution.
      • Valid Indiana Drivers License 
      • Demonstrated skills in working directly with intellectually disabled or emotionally disabled person’s is required.
      • College degree in human services field is preferred.
      • Must be 21 years of age.
      • Good communications skills, including verbal and written communications.
      • Professional communication and listening skills with an ability to represent T.C. Harris with tact and diplomacy at all levels.
      • Good organizational and time management skills necessary to prioritize multiple tasks.
      • Self-Starter able to initiate projects and work through to a successful conclusion without constant supervision.
      • Must be able to maintain student and employee confidentiality and handle confidential information with a high level of discretion.
      • Microsoft Office Skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
      • Demonstrated skills in therapeutic interactions and approaches with students.
      • Demonstrated ability to exercise excellent judgment and effective problem-solving skills.
      • Ability to be flexible and adaptable, critical thinking and excellent internal and external customer service skills.
      • Demonstrate respect for cultural, ethnic, spiritual and linguistic diversity and values including differences in personal goals, lifestyle choices and varying backgrounds and histories.
