    T.C. Harris School is a private, employee owned residential and day school for students, ages 6-21, who are diagnosed with Neurodevelopmental Disorders with a co-occurring Emotional Disturbance and/or Complex Developmental Trauma Disorder.  We boldly go on the journey to transform the lives of our students, their families, and the employee owners who serve them.

     

    We are looking for exeptional staff for our Specialized Residential Program.

     

    T.C. Harris School’s specialized residential programs provide services for students who live on campus and require our quality of care. Typically, these students present with challenging behaviors but are not actually hazardous

    Responsibilities

    At T.C. Harris School, Direct Support Professionals provide therapeutic and educational services to children, adolescents and young adults with developmental disabilities and emotional disturbances. The position requires continuous supervision of clients while they engage in their daily living activities. Candidates must demonstrate an understanding of the types of behaviors typical of individuals with emotional and developmental disabilities. Direct Support Professionals are trained to use proper interventions and therapeutic approaches while assisting our clients. The Direct Support Professional position is rewarding for those who are looking to make a difference.

     

    The Direct Support Professionals is responsible for the implementation of Facility policies and procedures and as directed will assist the QSP/Building Supervisor in implementing unit and individual programs; and coordination of the living unit.

    Qualifications

        • Requires demonstrated ability in the following areas: organizational skills, delegation of appropriate duties, accuracy and attention to detail in paperwork and other documentation.
        • A minimum of a high school diploma or G.E.D. College degree in a human services field preferred.
        • Demonstrated skill and/or potential in working directly with individuals with emotional and developmental disabilities
        • Must be 21 years of age.
        • Must Posess a Valid Indiana Drivers Licensne
