At T.C. Harris School, Direct Support Professionals provide therapeutic and educational services to children, adolescents and young adults with developmental disabilities and emotional disturbances. The position requires continuous supervision of clients while they engage in their daily living activities. Candidates must demonstrate an understanding of the types of behaviors typical of individuals with emotional and developmental disabilities. Direct Support Professionals are trained to use proper interventions and therapeutic approaches while assisting our clients. The Direct Support Professionals is responsible for the implementation of Facility policies and procedures and as directed will assist the QSP/Building Supervisor in implementing unit and individual programs; and coordination of the living unit.
